Tips To Boost Your Home Working Productivity

If working from home is still a relatively new experience for you, then it can take some time to settle down into a new routine. We all know the positives: no tedious and costly commute, no smart clothing expenses, the freedom to work to your own schedule. However, a little fine-tuning is sometimes needed to get everything running perfectly.

Here are some top tips to make the most of the situation!

1. Stick to your usual schedule as much as possible

It might be tempting to use your time to catch up on the odd errand or a bout of housework during the daytime, but this can quickly become a habit that eats into your productivity. Try and get up, showered and dressed at the same time as you would if you were going to commute to work.

This will help you keep on top of your workload, and mean that it doesn’t eat into your evenings and weekends.

2. Don’t neglect to exercise

When we go into the office, we generally do a lot more walking about during the day. If you work at home, it can mean you sit for hours on end absorbed in a task, and may be tempted to work straight through lunch. However, even a 10-minute break to stretch and get some fresh air can make a huge difference to your physical and mental wellbeing.

3. Have a comfortable set up

If working from home is set to become a long-term arrangement, you will need to make sure your work space is not going to give you chronic backache or eye strain in the future. Check out ergonomic advice on choosing a suitably adjusted chair and desk, and be aware of your posture; working from home is no excuse to slouch!
